In his first season as a member of the Falcons coaching staff, Miguel Gutierrez will help work with the offensive linemen. Most recently, Gutierrez was coaching the defensive linemen at Whittier College from 2021-22, and has coached all over Southern California. His other stops included St. Paul High (2015-17), Pasadena City College (2018, 2011-14), Mohave (AZ) High head coach (2007), Bassett High (2005), East Los Angeles College (2004), Whittier College (2002), Monrovia High (2000-01), Cantwell Sacred Heart (1998-99), Salesian High (1992-93) and Roosevelt High (1989-91).

Gutierrez was an offensive lineman on the 1989 Rose Bowl team for USC, as well as on their 1988 PAC-10 championship team. He prepped at Roosevelt High, where he played on both the offensive and defensive lines and helped them to consecutive 2A LA City championships.

Gutierrez earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from USC in Spanish with an emphasis in Literature, as well as a minor in Political Science in 2000.

Gutierrez, 56, and his wife Linda have been married for 26 years and have two sons – Miguel Jr. (25), who played football at Pasadena City College and Whittier College, while he earned his Masters degree from Crown (MN) College, as well as Steven (23), who was a two-time drum major at El Rancho High.
