| Title: | Defensive Assistant |
Returning to join the coaching staff after a career that included playing at West Virginia University and University of Houston, Noah Guzman will work as a defensive assistant. Back in 2018, Guzman was an All-California Region III selection after being a unanimous 1st Team All-Conference pick at free safety. He was also voted the team’s Defensive Freshman of the Year.
Recruited to play at West Virginia, Guzman played on their 2019 Liberty Bowl championship team, as well as receiving the Iron Mountaineer Award and was selected to the National All-Defense Team in Week 10 after his performance against Baylor University after posting 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. After retaining his year of eligibility in 2020, an injury kept him out of the 2021 season.
Guzman then transferred to the University of Houston for the 2022 season and played in all 13 games, while he was a two-time recipient of the Special Teams Player of the Week award. Another injury prevented him from playing in only two games in 2023, while he was voted a Team Captain and played in their Birmingham Bowl (17-13 over Auburn) and Independence Bowl (23-16 over Louisiana) championship teams.
A product of Bishop Amat High, Guzman was a two-way All-San Gabriel Valley Area selection and was a 1st Team All-Mission League pick at wide receiver. He earned all-league recognition on defense his junior season.
Guzman, 25, earned his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Houston in 2023. He currently resides in Whittier.
