From 2023-24, Nile Jernigan was a two-time 3C2A State Champion at 180 pounds for Cerritos College and helped the team to back-to-back Team Dual and team state championships. Jernigan posted a 36-1 record in her time with the Falcons. She is joining the coaching staff for her first season after spending last year as a member of the Cerritos High coaching staff.
She transferred to the University of the Cumberlands, where she posted a 15-7 overall record, which included finishing fourth at the Trojan Open.
A graduate of Corona High, Jernigan helped the wrestling team win the CIF Dual Team Wrestling Championship as a senior, while she won the National Championship at 143 pounds, CIF Championship and league championship at 150 pounds. She competed at Cerritos High her freshman thru junior seasons and won the District and league championship all three of those seasons and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player each year. Jernigan was a state qualifier at 126 pounds her junior year, as well as being the Masters Meet runner-up and CIF Regional champion. She also won the freestyle state championship at 126 pounds her junior season and also placed fifth at the state championship and third place at the Master Meet. Additionally, she was a Masters Meet placer and state qualifier at 126 pounds as a freshman.
Jernigan, 23, is single and resides in Bellflower.
