It's starting to become a weekly tradition for former Cerritos College All-American pitcher Hillary Perez-Ashley, who is a senior at West Virginia Wesleyan University. For the third week in a row, Perez-Ashley has been named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athlete Conference Pitcher of the Week, as she continues to help her team toward the post-season. Last week, Perez-Ashley, who was named the Southern California Pitcher of the Year and South Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year in both of her seasons with the Falcons, went 3-0 with 23 strikeouts without allowing a walk. She allowed just three hits and one run against Davis & Elkins and followed that up with complete-game shutouts against both Alderson-Broaddus and Fairmont State.

On the year, Perez-Ashley is 16-3 on the year with a 1.84 ERA, as the Bobcats are 35-11 and won their fifth consecutive WVIAC regular season title. They opened the WVIAC Tournament with wins over Ohio Valley, Fairmont State and West Virginia State with Perez-Ashley earning the win in the first two games.

While with the Falcons, Perez-Ashley became the first Cerritos pitcher to be named the state's Pitcher of the Year two seasons in a row, as well as being selected 1st Team All-American, Southern California Pitcher of the Year and South Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year both seasons. She had a remarkable 33-2 record with a 1.91 ERA and 120 strikeouts as a sophomore after recording a 31-7 mark with a 1.97 ERA her freshman campaign. In her time with Cerritos, Perez-Ashley set career records in wins (64) and appearances (84), as well as second in career starts (74) and single-season wins (33), third in innings pitched (425 2/3), while her .943 winning percentage (33-2) in her sophomore year is the highest ever for a pitcher with more than 17 wins.
