From 1985-87, Willie Joseph was viewed as the most dynamic men's basketball player in the state at the community college level. He helped lead the Falcons to a combined 57-8 record and a pair of South Coast Conference championships. A two-time 1st Team all-conference selection, Joseph was also named All-State and scored 1,305 points in his career. That total set a new school record at the time, while he currently sits tied for second. He is also one of only six players to average over 20 points a game for his two-year career with the Falcons. Joseph also holds the record for most field goal attempts made in a season (582) and is second in most field goals made (311).

The "Magic Johnson" of Cerritos College during his playing days, Joseph will be inducted into the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) on Wednesday (March 12), which is one day before Cerritos will take on San Francisco City College in the 3C2A State Quarterfinals.

Willie Joseph is being inducted into the CCCMBCA Hall of Fame As a freshman with the Falcons in 1985-86, Joseph averaged 17.0 points and 5.6 rebounds a game. He was named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference. A very consistent scorer, Joseph only scored over 30 points three times in his career. He improved his performance as a sophomore in 1986-87 when he scored 749 points and averaged 22.7 points a game, which are both still tied for the second highest in school history. Joseph shot 54% from the field as a freshman and sophomore and was a 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection his sophomore year.

Joseph then transferred to New Mexico State University, where he led the Aggies in scoring as a junior (14.6) and followed that by leading them in assists his senior year (3.8). They advanced to the NIT his senior year, but saw their season end with a first-round loss to Pepperdine University.

Over the next 16 years, Joseph played professional basketball in Australia and Tasmania, where he became a local legend. He helped several teams win championships and after his playing career ended, Joseph transitioned into coaching, both on the men's and women's sides.

Joseph will be joining his coaches Jack Bogdanovich and Dean Ackland, who have both been inducted into the CCCMBCA Hall of Fame, and will also join former Falcon coaches Jim Killingsworth and Bob Foerster, as well as former players Lorenzo Romar and Tom Tolbert.
