A trio of Cerritos College women's basketball players were honored by being voted as 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selections, while a trio earned 2nd Team recognition. The Falcons (22-7), who finished in a tie for second place in the highly competitive SCC this season, were recently seeded #5 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host #12-seeded College of the Canyons (19-10) on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Gahr HS.

Sophomore forward Andrina Rendon (St. Paul HS) was named to the 1st Team for the second year in a row, while sophomore forward Dershawna Staves (Bellflower HS) and freshman guard Marissa Rendon (St. Paul HS) join her on the 1st Team. Picking up 2nd Team honors were sophomore guard Armelia Patterson (Long Beach Millikan HS), freshman guard Talor Hixon (St. Anthony HS) and sophomore forward Regina English (Bellflower HS).

Andrina Rendon is the only Falcon averaging double-figures in scoring in both the 16-game SCC season (14.3) and over the course of the season (14.7), while she also averaged 6.8 rebounds in the conference and has netted a team-high 52-of-142 three-pointers on the year. As for Staves, she has had a strong sophomore campaign and averaged 7.2 points in conference and 7.4 points on the year, to go along with a team-high 7.3 rebounds in SCC play and 6.8 overall rebounding average to go along with her team-leading 54 blocked shots on the year. As for Marissa Rendon, she is also an outside shooting threat, netting 33 three-pointers on the season and averaging 8.3 points a game and leads the squad with 91 assists.

Patterson, one of numerous outside shooting threats, averages 7.6 points and 5.2 rebounds on the year and has drained 34 three-pointers, with Hixon serving as the team's point guard. She has averaged 6.0 points and 4.1 rebounds a game and is second on the team with 68 assists. English, who is one of only two players on the team who has not drained a three-pointer, averages 8.1 points and 6.7 rebounds a game. She is also the team-leader with a 52% shooting percentage from the field on the year.
