As they prepare for their Southern California Regional Playoff game at Ventura College on Saturday, the Cerritos College football team was informed that 17 of their players earned All-Central League recognition, with nine of them on the 1st Team. Those on offense earning 1st Team honors were freshman quarterback Jeremiah Calvin (Mayfair HS), freshman wide receiver Charles Clinton II (Long Beach Poly HS), freshman offensive lineman David Paulo (Mayfair HS), freshman kicker Jonathan Arreola (Mayfair HS) and freshman punter Logan Kennedy (Cypress HS), as well as sophomore linebackers Adrian Castro (La Serna HS) and Rocky Jack (Summer Creek, TX HS/Orange Coast College), sophomore defensive end Miles Merchant (Gahr HS) and freshman cornerback Max Rankin (La Mirada HS).

Named to the 2nd Team include sophomore kick returner Rocco Caldarella (Valley Christian HS), sophomore running back Josh Cason (Long Beach Poly HS), sophomore wide receiver Saxon Va'a (Banning HS), sophomore offensive linemen Rogelio Baca (Warren HS) and Tino Huckaby (Long Beach Poly HS), sophomore tight end Danez Maxey (Buena Park HS) and sophomore linebackers Clarence Chaney (JSerra HS/Southwest Baptist University) and Danny F. Washington (Buena Park HS).

Over the course of the 10-game regular season, Calvin completed 171-of-254 passes for 2,276 yards and 20 touchdowns, while he also rushed for another 42 yards and two touchdowns. He went the first five games without throwing an interception and opened his collegiate career by completing 27-of-31 passes for 321 yards against Mt. San Antonio College, and also tossed for 303 yards against College of the Canyons. Clinton is tied for the team lead with 36 receptions for a team-leading 609 yards and eight touchdowns. He caught a pair of touchdown passes in three consecutive games and had a season-high 118 receiving yards against College of the Canyons. Arreola, who booted the game-winning field goal against Fullerton College that virtually clinched the post-season berth for the Falcons, converted 7-of-8 field goals on the year. He also made good on 43-of-46 extra points. His 64 kick scoring points are the most by a Cerritos kicker since Francisco Rodriguez finished the 2009 season with 70 points. Kennedy was only asked to punt 29 times, but averaged 42.2 yards per punt and left eight of them inside the 20-yard line. 

Falcons had eight 2nd Team picks All of the offensive linemen selected all-conference played a key role in the team averaging 438 yards and nearly 37 points a game. In addition to the 2,779 passing yards by the Falcons quarterbacks this season, the rushing game has collected 1,600 yards and 22 touchdowns heading into the playoffs.

One of the strengths of the team was the play of their linebackers, who only allowed 121 yards on the ground per game. Jack leads the team with 63 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss, while he has also posted a pair of quarterback sacks, broke up three passes, forced two fumbles and intercepted a pass. He recorded a season-high 14 tackles and two tackles for loss against Golden West College, while he followed up that game with 11 stops against Fullerton College. As for Castro, he had 60 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, along with a fumble recovery and interception. He combined for 23 tackles in back-to-back games against College of the Canyons and Bakersfield College, while he picked off a pass against Fullerton. Playing as a defensive end, but as versatile as a linebacker, Merchant has produced 26 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack, with Rankin adding 34 tackles (21 solo), six pass breakups, an interception with a 70-yard return, while he has forced and recovered a fumble and also blocked a kick.

As a 2nd Team pick, Chaney is second on the team with 61 tackles and six tackles for loss, which included 14 stops against Pasadena City College and 10 against Golden West. Washington turned in 22 tackles during the regular season, along with 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. As the team's leading rusher with 690 yards and 11 touchdowns, Cason had a career-high 108 yards against East Los Angeles College, while he scored touchdowns in each of the first seven games of the year. He also pulled in 17 passes for 128 yards as an extra threat out of the backfield. Va'a, who caught 30 passes for 396 yards and five touchdowns, also returned 11 punts for 142 yards and a 64-yard touchdown against East Los Angeles. Va'a caught a pair of touchdown passes in two of the final three regular season games. A position usually reserved as an extra blocker, Maxey broke free to catch 12 passes for 155 yards, with most of his receptions coming on crucial third down plays. With Caldarella, he was also a two-way threat. Also a 2nd Team pick as a kick returner his freshman year, he brought back 24 kickoffs for 655 yards (27.3 average), which are the most return yards in school history since Corey Kelly had 784 yards in 1994. He also pulled in 17 passes for 218 yards.
