In their final game of 2025, the Cerritos College men's basketball team turned in an 87-67 win over host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Monday. It marked the fifth time this season that the Falcons (12-3) defeated an opponent by at least 20 points. Next up for the team will be another South Coast Conference crossover game on January 7 when they host Pasadena City College.

After a quick start by the Falcons, the Beavers (6-6) tied the game at 12-12 before another run helped Cerritos open a 24-14 lead. One of the key plays on the run was a four-point play from freshman Elijah Gelin (Winward HS), who was fouled making a three-pointer and then converted his free throw. Leading by 12 points on four separate occasions in the first half, they were able to extend the advantage to 18 points after sophomores Kamaury Washington (Long Beach Millikan HS/Santa Ana College) and Dorian Tate (St. Paul HS/Rio Hondo College) hit jumpers, with freshman DJ Holt (St. John Bosco HS) hitting a three-pointer to open the big advantage.

Early in the second half, Washington dropped a three-pointer to maintain a 17-point lead (53-36), with a layup from Washington a few minutes later giving Cerritos their first 20-point lead of the game (61-40). The Beavers never had an answer, as the Falcons led by as many as 29 points (83-54) with 3:32 left on the clock.

Tate led all players with 21 points and 14 rebounds, along with a pair of blocked shots, while Washington finished with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in the win. Gelin scored his 15 points and pulled down six rounds in 15 minutes off the bench, while freshman Ali Thompson (Fairfax HS) passed off a season-high seven assists in a reserve role. Sophomore Jaysen Owens (Narbonne HS) added nine points with nine rebounds, while a trio of players scored six points.
