Cerritos College delivered a standout performance at the South Coast Conference Championships held at El Camino College, capturing multiple event titles and producing a large number of 3C2A State qualifying marks across both the men's and women's competitions.
The Falcons showcased their depth throughout the two-day meet, highlighted by conference championships in the sprints, distance events, relays, and field events on both sides.
On the men's side, Joshua Morales led the way with a dominant distance double, winning both the 10,000 meters in 32:06.63 and the 5,000 meters in 15:02.77 to claim two conference titles. Juan Flores added another championship on the track, winning the 1500 meters in 3:55.30.
The men's sprint group also made its mark, as the 4x100-meter relay team of Ethan Rosborough, Tyler Robinson, Nolan Kolby, and Xavier Williams captured the conference title in 41.50. The same group of athletes also played key roles in strong individual performances across the 100 and 200 meters, with Rosborough and Williams both posting top finishes throughout the meet.
In the field events, Cerritos continued its strong showing. Damian Salas earned a conference title in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.66 meters, while Ethan Rosborough secured the long jump championship at 6.90 meters. Tyler Robinson added another title in the triple jump with a mark of 13.82 meters, and Jesus Diaz claimed the pole vault championship at 4.35 meters.
The throws group was especially productive, as Dang Tran earned conference titles in both the discus (46.15m) and shot put (14.74m), while Francisco Arechiga added top finishes in multiple events. The decathlon group also performed well, with Roman Sanson (5812) and Logan Smith (5762) both achieving strong multi-event scores.
On the women's side, Mackenzie Monson delivered one of the most impressive individual performances of the entire meet, sweeping the hammer throw (56.22m), discus (46.05m), and shot put (13.10m) to claim three conference titles and multiple 3C2A State "A" standards.
Angel Corral also had a standout meet, winning the 400 meters in 57.06 and helping lead the Falcons to a conference title in the 4x400-meter relay alongside Deona Standifer, Taylor Kline, and Jewel Scott, finishing in 3:59.01.
Taylor Kline added another championship performance by winning the heptathlon with 3,779 points while also contributing to the winning 4x400 relay squad, showcasing her versatility across multiple events.
Additional women's highlights included strong state-qualifying performances from Miracle Siaosi, Aysia Mallory Felliciano, Ginna Holloway, and Sanaa Trotter, as Cerritos produced depth across the throws, jumps, and sprints.
In total, Cerritos athletes combined for numerous conference championships, multiple relay victories, and a wide range of 3C2A State qualifying marks, setting the stage for the upcoming postseason.
