Competing for the Cerritos College women's wrestling team in their inaugural season of 2023, Aine Drury not only won the 3C2A State Championship at 148 pounds, she also helped lead the team to the team dual and team state championship. Drury transferred to King (TN) University, where she was a NCWW National Runner-up, NCWWC Region II champion and NWCA Scholar All-American. This past week, Drury won the title at 65 kilograms at the US Open on Friday, which was at The Expo at World Market Center in Las Vegas, which earned an automatic bid to Final X, which will determine who represents the United States at the 2025 Senior World Championships in September. Falcons head coach Dustin Kirk was in her corner during the competition as one of her coaches.

To be eligible for an automatic berth to Final X, an athlete must have medalled at either the 2024 Olympic Games or 2025 Senior World Championships at the weight being contested for 2025 Final X. Drury will now compete against Macey Kilty (University of Iowa) in a best-of-three series at Final X, which is set for Saturday, June 14 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Seeded #2 for the tournament and represented by the New York Athletic Club, Drury opened with a bye before she posted an 11-0 technical fall win over Josselin Campos of Lindsey Wilson College. In the quarterfinals, it was a fall in 17 seconds against Gabriell Perez of the University of Florida that advanced her to the semifinals. In that match, Drury led Jennifer Page of Titan Mercury Wrestling, 10-2 before pinning her in 2:14.

Taking on top-seeded Isabella Mir (North Central College) of the Cardinal Wrestling Club, Drury pulled out an 8-7 win for the championship. She led, 4-2 after the first period and even increased her lead to 8-1 before Mir recorded a four-point takedown with 25 seconds left and then received another point as time expired.

Drury will be looking for some revenge against Kilty. At the NWCA National Championships, Kilty recorded a 10-0 win over Drury in the semifinals before defeating Mir in the national championship match. Earlier in the season, Drury won the NCWWC Region 3 National Championship.
