Falcons Earn Split in Beach Volleyball Doubleheader at Rosie’s Dog Beach

Cerritos College Beach Volleyball turned in a competitive day at Rosie's Dog Beach on Tuesday, earning a split in a doubleheader against Mt. San Jacinto College and Life Pacific University.

The Falcons opened the day with a 3–2 victory over Mt. San Jacinto, clinching the dual behind strong performances at the top of the lineup. The No. 1 pair of Roselyn Tobie and Roselia Cazares-Gonzalez set the tone with a straight-sets win, 21–11, 21–14. At No. 2, Jasmine Soto-Castro and Jordin Lewis followed with a hard-fought victory, 21–10, 21–17, to give Cerritos an early edge.

The decisive point came at No. 3, where Tiffany Teats and Gabriella Colombo battled through three sets to secure the clinching win, 21–17, 12–21, 15–10. MSJC earned points at the No. 4 and No. 5 pairs, but Cerritos' success in the top flights sealed the dual.

In the second match of the day, the Falcons narrowly fell to Life Pacific University, 3–2, in another tightly contested matchup. Cerritos picked up wins at No. 1, as Tobie and Cazares-Gonzalez won 21–10, 21–12, and at No. 2, where Soto-Castro and Lewis earned a 21–18, 21–13 victory. LPU claimed the remaining three flights, including a three-set battle at No. 3, to edge the Falcons in the final score.

Cerritos showed depth, resilience, and competitiveness throughout both duals, demonstrating growth and balance across the lineup. The Falcons will look to build on the positives from the day as they wrap up their homestand on Friday against Riverside City College and Santa Monica College.
