In his first season as a member of the coaching staff, Ilias Lazaar has both collegiate and international playing experience, along with local coaching experience. While playing at Westcliff University, he helped the team win the Cal-Pac Conference championship in indoor volleyball, while they captured the AVCA National Championship in beach volleyball twice with Lazaar playing on the #1 pairing.

Lazaar played for the Al Nasr Club team in Dubai in 2021 before joining Westcliff University, while he has played for the Moroccan National Team since 2017. Most recently, he was a member of the African Continental Championship beach volleyball team with Morocco.

His coaching experience includes two years at Cypress High (2022-24) and Apex Club (2022-24), while he is also coaching with the Seal Beach Volleyball Club.

Lazaar earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Westcliff University in 2024.

Lazar, 25, and his wife Ahlame were married on September 24, 2024 and reside in Huntington Beach.
