Sanson Places Fifth in Decathlon, Leads Falcons at SoCal Combined Events Championship

The Cerritos College men's track & field team delivered a strong performance at the Southern California Combined Events Championship held March 31-April 1 at Cuesta College, highlighted by Roman Sanson's top-five finish in the decathlon.

Sanson totaled 5,812 points across the 10 events to place fifth overall, earning a qualifying mark for the upcoming 3C2A State Championships. His consistent effort throughout the two-day competition paced the Falcons and secured his spot among the top combined-event athletes in the region.

Teammate Logan Smith also turned in an impressive showing, finishing seventh overall with 5,762 points. Javone Brown rounded out Cerritos' competitors in the decathlon, placing 10th with a total of 5,194 points.

The Falcons' trio demonstrated depth and competitiveness in the multi-events as the team continues to build momentum heading into the postseason. Sanson will look to carry his performance forward as he prepares to represent Cerritos College at the state meet.
