Juan Flores returned to the top of the 3C2A state rankings in the 1500 meters to lead a strong showing by Cerritos College at the Cerritos Invitational.
Flores clocked an impressive 3:53.88, hitting the state "A" standard and reclaiming the No. 1 spot in California. He also added a solid performance in the 800 meters (1:56.29), highlighting a standout distance day for the Falcons.
Cerritos showcased depth in the 1500, with Joshua Morales also reaching the state "A" standard in 3:59.19. The Falcons placed multiple runners in the event, demonstrating continued strength in the distance program.
In the sprints, the 4x100-meter relay team of Ethan Rosborough, Tyler Robinson, Nolan Kolbly, and Xavier Williams turned in a state "A" qualifying time of 41.31. The 4x400 relay squad followed suit, as Alexander Bowens, Rosborough, Axel Rebolledo-Ynostros, and Williams posted a 3:18.61 to also meet the state standard.
Individually, Williams led the way in the 100 meters (10.79), while Rosborough added a 10.90. Jeremiah Atkins paced the Falcons in the 400 meters with a time of 49.33 and later contributed a 22.80 effort in the 200.
The field events also produced multiple state qualifiers. Damian Salas (49.71m) and Francisco Arechiga (48.53m) each hit the "A" standard in the hammer throw, while Dang Tran qualified in both the shot put (14.10m) and discus (44.65m).
In the jumps, Rosborough (6.86m) and Robinson (6.77m) delivered strong marks in the long jump, while Robinson added a 13.32m effort in the triple jump.
Cerritos continued to show balance across events, with distance runners contributing solid times in the 5,000 meters, led by Jonathan Morales (15:35.24) and Louis Santibanez (15:41.87).
With multiple state qualifiers and Flores leading the charge with a top-ranked performance, the Falcons continue to build momentum as the postseason approaches.
