Cerritos College sophomore outfielder Morgan Fontela (Long Beach Millikan HS) is the first member of the softball team to make their four-year commitment, as she will be transferring to the University of Hawai'i Hilo. A 2nd team All-South Coast Conference selection, Fontela started in 42 of the team's 43 games and batted .320 with 10 doubles, 25 RBI and 10 stolen bases. She also recorded a .964 field percentage as the team's centerfielder and recorded four outfield assists.

Over the course of the season, Fontela posted 12 multi-hit games and clubbed her lone home run against Los Angeles Harbor College and drove in a season-high four runs in that game. Fontela had a seven-game hitting streak during the season where she went 12-for-24 (.500) along with eight RBI and four walks.

Fontela will be joining a Vulcans team that went 27-22 on the year and placed sixth in the PacWest Conference and failed to qualify for the conference tournament. She will be looked upon to provide outfield depth for the team.
