Paced by a pair of goals from Henderson Figueroa (Narbonne HS) and a strong overall defensive effort, the Cerritos College men's soccer team recorded a 4-0 South Coast Conference South Division win over Compton College on Friday. The clean sheet was the second in the last three games for the Falcons (8-4-0, 1-1-0), who will travel to Rio Hondo College next Tuesday for a 1:30 p.m. conference match.

Figueroa scored his first goal of the day in the 29th minute, which turned out to be the lone goal of the first half. The Falcons, who peppered the Coyotes (3-6-1, 0-1-1) with 23 shot attempts, limited their opponents to just four shots, with only one on net.

Goalkeeper Eduardo Enriquez (Linda Esperanza Marquez HS) extended his steak of not allowing a goal to 185 minutes and 42 seconds, improved to 4-0-0 on the year, as he was the recipient of three second half goals that put the game out of reach.

Cerritos scored their three second half goals in a seven-minute period, as they wore down the Compton defense. Nathan Pineda (Santa Fe HS) made it a 2-0 game in the 76th minute, while Christian Ramirez (Bishop Mora Salesian HS) moved into a tie as the team-leader in goals with his seventh goal of the year in the 78th minute. Figueroa added his fourth goal of the year in the 83rd minute to close out the scoring, while Allan Gonzalez (Lakewood HS) assisted on both of his tallies.
