Taking on #4-seeded El Camino College in the first round of the South Coast Conference Tournament on Friday, the Cerritos College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss. The loss by the #5-seeded Falcons (12-6-2) sends them to the fifth place game, where they will host #6-seeded Pasadena City College at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Three days ago, Cerritos defeated the Lancers, 4-2.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the game when freshman Nathan Pineda (Santa Fe HS) posted his eighth goal of the season in the 29th minute of the game. It only took the Warriors four minutes to tie the game when Juan Tibocha slipped a shot past freshman goalkeeper Anthony Gomez (Los Alamitos HS).

Both teams had scoring opportunities, but neither could gain an advantage. As a team, Cerritos took 13 shots, with four on net, while El Camino attempted 20 shots on the day.

Early in the second half, the Warriors scored what would be the game-winning goal when Jaden Hancock scored just six minutes in, with the Falcons unable to find the equalizer.
