Outfielder Diego Orozco (Long Beach Wilson HS) is the second Cerritos College baseball player to commit to Azusa Pacific University and eighth member of the team to to make their four-year decision. Orozco will remain teammates with Isaiah Rios, who already committed to the Cougars.

Orozco, who at one time led the state in walks, batted .254 on the season with five doubles, two triple, two home runs and 24 RBI, while he finished with 52 free passes. His 52 walks are tied for the second most in school history and were one shy of tying the record, which is held by Darrell Sherman (1988) and Criag Scoggins (1965).

He drew a season-high four walks against Bakersfield College and had three free passes in nine other games. Orozco opened the season going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and five RBI against Mt. San Jacinto College, while he had five other multi-hit games. His free passes also allowed Orozco to finish third on the team with 44 runs scored. He concluded his Falcon career with more walks (75) and runs scored (59) than hits (56).

Orozco joins a Cougars team that posted a 22-28 record and included former Falcon David Hays. Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jerry Pena is another former Cerritos College player who suited up for the Falcons from 2007-08.

Other Falcons who have already signed include infielder Dylan Immel (Wagner University), catcher Nate Gardenswartz (Point Park, PA University), outfielders  Evan Saito (Cal State Northridge) and Rios (Azusa Pacific University), along with pitchers Noah Andrunas (Saint Louis University), Holden Hungerford (Chaminade University) and Derek Valdez (University of Hawai'i and Manoa).
