Running at Buffalo Park at Northern Arizona University on Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country competed in their first invitational of the season. The Falcons, who were the lone California team at the event, entered 15 runners at the George Kyle Classic and they finished in ninth place with 254 team points. The team will compete at the Oxnard Invitational next weekend.
Running the 4.5-mile course, the Falcons had Joshua Morales (Warren HS) complete the course in a time of 24:24.9, which put him in 54th place out of 149 runners. Teammate Juan Flores (Warren HS) wasn't too far behind, as his clocking of 24:37.2 put him in 60th place on the day. The trio of Axel Rebolledo-Ynostros (California HS), Jonathan Morales (Downey HS) and Louis Santibanez (Warren HS) all crossed the finish line within 14 seconds of each other to help account for the team score. Rebolledo-Ynostros came in 71st place with a time of 24:56.6, while Morales touched up right behind him in 24:57.4, good for 72nd place, with Santibanez turning in a 77th place time of 25:10.2.
Also competing on the day for Cerritos included Mikel Bautista (Warren HS; 25:16.9; 82nd place), Alexander Reyes (Downey HS; 25:51.0; 95th place), Nikolas Dominguez (Downey HS; 26:03.5; 99th place), Daniel Hernandez (Aloha (OR) HS; 27:11.7; 118th place), Preston Yi (Cerritos HS; 27:13.3; 119th place), Jesse Angel (Warren HS; 27:39.4; 127th place), Brayden Choi (Redlands HS; 28:23.3; 133rd place), Johan Perez (Downey HS; 28:57.6; 138th place), Aidan Vigil (La Serna HS; 29:27.3; 139th place) and Mikkelson Reyes (Lakewood HS; 30:36.7; 144th place).
