Taking on a Golden West College team that entered the game 4-0-0 and had not given up a goal seemed like a daunting task for the Cerritos College women's soccer team on Friday. The Falcons (1-4-1) were able to prevent the Rustlers from scoring and posted a 0-0 draw on the road. Cerritos will return home to host Ventura College at 4:00 p.m. next Tuesday.
Freshman goalkeeper Paulina Prescott (Downey HS) turned away seven first half shots to help secure the shutout against Golden West, who entered the game scoring 13 goals on the year including six in their last game.
Cerritos did put eight shots on goal in the game, with sophomore Ariana Rivera (Long Beach Millikan HS) accounting for four of them, while sophomore Sariah Sanchez (La Sierra HS) had a pair of shots on goal.
