After finishing in fourth place in the very strong South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College volleyball team had a pair of players earn post-season awards. The Falcons, who finished 10-12 on the year, saw sophomore outside hitter Lupe Garcia (Foshay Learning Center HS) garner 1st Team All-SCC honors, while sophomore outside hitter Andrea Stovall (Lynwood HS) was selected to the 2nd Team.

Garcia, who started her career with Cerritos as a setter, moved to outside hitter to utilize her skills, and she responded by leading the team with 189 kills, as well as finishing second on the team with 170 digs and added 116 assists. She also paced the team with 39 service aces and added 16 blocks for the Falcons.

Stovall, who had a two-year career on the Cerritos track and field team, finished second on the team with 109 kills, while recording 24 blocks and added 38 digs. As a member of the track team, Stovall showed her versatility by placing fifth at the state championships in the high jump and seventh in the heptathlon as a sophomore after coming in eighth in the high jump her freshman season.
