WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY PASADENA CITY

After winning three straight South Coast Conference matches in a row, the Cerritos College volleyball team saw that come to an end on Wednesday, as #7-ranked Pasadena City College defeated the Falcons, 8-25, 17-25, 17-25 to drop the team's record to 8-10 overall and 5-5 in the SCC. It doesn't get any easier for Cerritos, as they host #3-ranked El Camino College at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Gahr HS.

After being held to only one kill through the first two games, sophomore Lupe Garcia (Foshay Learning Center HS) recorded nine kills in 11 attempts during the third set to finish with a team-high 10 kills. The Falcons were limited to just 18 kills as a team, while they were also held to just one block at the net, which was recorded by Garcia. Freshman Latia Peters (Hesperia HS) added three kills, while sophomore Amber Finley (Gahr HS) turned in a pair of kills.

Freshmen Gloria Chang (Bellflower HS) and Brittany Buffington (Mayfair HS) combined for 15 assists, while freshman Madison Guastella (Lakewood HS) and Katie Christensen (Gahr HS) teamed up for 13 digs. Garcia also had five digs in the loss.
