The Cerritos College men's track and field team won three running events an came in second place in three field events at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic. Next up for the team, the Falcons will travel to Point Loma Nazarene University this weekend to take part in the Ross & Sharon Irwin Invitational.
Sprinter Sebastian Lopez turned in the fastest time of the 52 entries in the 100 meters with a time of 10.81, while teammates Ethan Rosborough (Narbonne HS) and Te'Quan Chatman each posted times of 11.11 and finished in sixth and seventh places, respectively. In the 400 meters, Terrance Williams outran the field with his winning time of 47.38 in a field of 40 runners. The time of 49.30 pout teammate Konnor Handy (St. John Bosco HS) in fourth place.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the quartet of Elijah Jones, Elijah Porras, Handy and Williams recorded a winning time of 3:16.94, which is the third fastest time in the state this season. Rosborough also posted a second place long jump of 6.80 meters.
Thrower Francisco Arechiga (California HS) came in second place in the discus (40.62 meters), while Luke Johnson posted a second place distance in the javelin at 48.47 meters, which marks the seventh best distance in the state this season.
