After a season where he earned All-American recognition as a member of the Cerritos College men's track and field 4x400-meter relay team, sophomore Konnor Handy (St. John Bosco HS) has signed with Cal Poly Pomona. Handy ran the third leg of the relay team that recorded a time of 3:16.48 for a third place finish at the 3C2A State Championships. It was three seconds off the quartet's season best time of 3:13.42, which won the Southern California Championship and was the fourth fastest time in the state this past season. He was joined by Te'Quan Chatman, Sebastian Lopez and Terrence Williams.

Handy also qualified for the state championships in the 400 meters and posted a ninth place time of 50.06, which was well off his personal best time of 47.93 he turned in at the Southern California Championships. It earned him a fifth place result and was the eighth fastest time in the state. Additionally, he finished in second place at the South Coast Conference Championships in the 400 meters and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team.

As a freshman, Handy ran a leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed sixth at the state championships, third place at the Southern California Championships and took second at the conference championships.

He joins Lopez (Cal State Long Beach) as the first two Falcons to make their four-year commitments.
