Cerritos College sophomore All-American sprinter Sebastian Lopez (Downey HS) is the first member of the men's track and field team to make their four-year commitment after he announced he will be continuing his career at Cal State Long Beach. Lopez, who helped the Falcons place sixth at the 3C2A State Championships, competed in three events, with his All-American honor coming as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that came in third place.

The quartet of Te'Quan Chatman, Lopez, Konnor Handy and Terrence Williams recorded a time of 3:16.48 for their third place finish. It was three seconds off their season best time of 3:13.42, which won the Southern California Championship and was the fourth fastest time in the state this past season.

Additionally, Lopez was joined by Xavier Williams, Chatman and Ethan Rosborough to register a sixth place time in the 4x100-meter relay at the state championships. It was a shade off their best time of the season at 41.23, which earned them a third place result at the SoCal Championships and was the eighth best time in the state.

Individually, Lopez posted an eighth place time in the 100 meters with a clocking of 10.63 after he won the SoCal Championship with a personal best time of 10.41, which was the best time in Southern California on the year and fourth best in the state.

Lopez continues the Falcons tradition of sending track and field athletes to Cal State Long Beach, as he is the third in the last three seasons and 25th in school history.
